Torri

Torri of the Alta-Rocca

Torrean Civilization
appears at the Age of bronze, towards 1900 before JC, its name comes from the monuments which it primarily set up in our microphone-area: torri (turns, keeps).

One meets several types of torri, of simplest measuring ten meters in diameter and comprising in the center a small part of approximately 2 meters, the cella (room), others vaster, organized in village, comprise several dwellings and are girdled fortifications.
This rural company where the craft industry was already present would be a megalithic evolution of the settlement of the island.

The monuments best preserved are here, of the plate of Levie to the gulf of Porto-Vecchio: Araghju, Cucuruzzu, Cappula, Tappa, Torre.
