The littoral of Corsica offers conditions very favorable to the practice of underwater hunting: softness of the climate, water limpid but especially abundance of fish of rock. Hunting is prohibited off the Cerbicales islands, on the whole of the Mouths of Bonifacio and in the reserve of the Lavezzi islands.
The regulation of this sport is very strict: to be 16 years old, to have subscribed to an insurance, to have made a statement near the maritime businesses or to have a licence of the French Federation of the Underwater Sports. It is prohibited to drive out: - with an apparatus allowing to breathe in diving. - to sell its catches. - of night with use of a luminous source. - with less than 150 m of the boats or fishing nets announced by beacons. It is prohibited to fish the following species: - The lobster, all types of shellfish (spider crabs, cicadas, lobsters) and the molluscs (large mother-of-pearl and dates of sea). - Mérous. - Coral. - Sea urchins of April 1 to November 30.
