Blocks of stones to gigantic dimensions, Taffoni are a characteristic of the south of Corsica.
Seen by far or seen sky, the enormous blocks sometimes in balances give to the landscape an impression of chaos and bring us in a daydream of the time of the first ages.
The first inhabitants of Corsica sought under these blocks of stone shelters. On the site of Cauria, behind the menhirs and the dolmens, Taffoni are essential. They give to this landscape the appearance of a theatre where one could easily see the first men.
